Welch is the author and leader of the Grammy nominated Florence + The Machine group. His four critically acclaimed studio albums have sold millions of copies worldwide, with 3 albums in the Top 10 in the United States.

Commenting on the song and the instrumental soundtrack, twice Academy Award nominee and Emmy winner, composer and pianist Nicholas Britell said: «I’m a huge fan of Florence, so it was a real joy to collaborate with her on “Call me Cruella”. With this song and with the music of Cruella, the goal was to truly embrace the raw aesthetics of rock in the London of the Sixties and Seventies. We recorded it all using all vintage gear and analog tape at Abbey Road and Air Studios in London, blending orchestral elements with electric guitars and basses, organs, keyboards and drums».
